Botox/Dysport

When is this recommended?

Typically used to improve frown lines, neurotoxins/neuromodulators prevent muscles from allowing the movement that creates the fold and, over time, often reverse the lines that may already be present in the skin. We recommend Dysport or Botox when patients start to see a trace of a wrinkle when the face is at rest. This helps prevent etched lines that are more difficult to treat.

Treat Jaw Pain/TMJ

Are you a candidate for Botox or Dysport due to Jaw or Head and neck muscle problems? Treat TMJ, chronic migraines, grinding and clenching of teeth with Dysport or Botox. Teeth grinding or clenching may be loud enough to awaken your sleep partner. Over time this chronic stress placed on the teeth can cause teeth to break and become worn down. This can expose deeper layers of your tooth, increase tooth sensitivity, and discomfort which ultimately can result in expensive dental care over a period of years. Jaw pain, tightness and tiredness are also symptoms as well as ear pain, headaches, and chronic facial pain. In general, medications aren’t very effective for relieving these discomforts. Dysport/Botox injections may help some people who have not responded to other treatments.
